چکیده
We aim to make use of the measurements from Giraffe Inner Bulge Survey (GIBS) and Gaia$-$ESO survey (GES) study kinematics distance carrier DIB$\,\lambda$8620, as well other properties. successfully detected measured DIB$\,\lambda$8620 in 760 4117 GES spectra. Combined with DIBs GIBS spectra, we confirmed a tight relation between EW $E(J-K_{\rm S})$ $A_{\rm V}$, similar fitting coefficients those found by previous works. With more accurate sample consideration solar motion, rest-frame wavelength was redetermined 8620.83 \r{A}, mean fit error 0.36 \r{A}. studied DIB carriers tracing their median radial velocities each field local standard rest ($V_{\rm LSR}$) into galactocentric frame GC}$), respectively, function Galactic longitudes. Based on $V_{\rm LSR}$ two rotation models, obtained valid kinematic distances for nine ten fields. also linear this work near-infrared APOGEE spectra at $1.5273\,\mu m$. demonstrate that can be located much closer observer than background stars based following arguments: (i) qualitatively, occupy longitude$-$velocity diagram typical disk, while are mainly bulge; (ii) quantitatively, all derived smaller field.

The Diffuse Interstellar Band at 8620 Å: a Good Reddening Tracer for Gaia
We report about a suprisingly good correlation between the equivalent width of the diffuse interstellar band (DIB) at 8620 Å and the interstellar reddening. Such a correlation offers bright prospects in using the 8620 Å DIB as a tracer of the extinction through the Galaxy in the context of the GAIA mission by ESA. The GAIA mission planned by ESA is aimed to provide astrometry in the 10 microarc...
متن کاملRejection of the C Diffuse Interstellar Band Hypothesis
Using the new high-resolution (∼8 km s ) echelle spectrograph on the 3.5 m telescope at the Apache Point Observatory, we have begun a high-sensitivity survey of the diffuse interstellar bands (DIBs) in a large sample of reddened stars. Now that we are 2 years into this long-term survey, our sample includes over 20 reddened stars that show at least one of the DIBs that had been suggested to be c...
متن کاملThe diffuse interstellar bands at 5797 , 6379 and 6613 Å Ionization properties of the carriers ?
We present a study of the behaviour and ionization properties of three narrow Diffuse Interstellar Bands (DIBs) at λλ5797, 6379 and 6613Å. In all three DIBs substructures have recently been detected, indicating large gaseous molecular carriers. Studying DIBs in regions with drastically different physical properties in terms of UV flux and density enables us to monitor the behaviour of the carri...
متن کاملDiffuse interstellar bands near 9600 Å : not due to C 60 + yet
High spectral resolution studies of the two Diffuse Interstellar Bands (DIB) previously assigned to C60+ (λ9577 and λ9632) confirm that these DIBs have the same full-widthat-half-maximum and behave similarly in dense cloud environments where the DIBs are weakened relative to the diffuse interstellar medium. Their relative strength, however, is less than previously reported and differs from the ...
متن کاملThe interstellar 4.62 micron band.
We present new 4.5-5.1 micron (2210-1970 cm-1) spectra of embedded protostars, W33 A, AFGL 961 E, AFGL 2136, NGC 7538 IRS 9, and Mon R2 IRS 2, which contain a broad absorption feature located near 4.62 micron (2165 cm-1), commonly referred to in the literature as the "X-C triple bond N" band. The observed peak positions and widths of the interstellar band agree to within 2.5 cm-1 and 5 cm-1, re...
